Contents of the OB Pack

Hand Towel

• Used for drying the hands of the nurse and physician post-surgical hand washing.

• Also supports the perineum during delivery.

• Folding Instructions:

  • Fold twice.

  • Make a dog ear.

Square Sheet

• Positioned on the mother's abdomen and under buttocks.

• Distinction from Hand Towel:

  • Shape: rectangular for hand towel, square for this drape.

• Colors available: blue or green.

• Folding Instructions:

  • Fold twice.

  • Make a dog ear.

Pair of Leggings

• Covers the legs of the patient during the procedure.

• Folding Instructions:

  • Create a cuff first.

  • Fold into a rectangular shape.

  • Fan fold the tail and then fold twice.

Surgical Gown

• Must keep the front of the gown sterile.

• Parts of the Gown:

  • Front: has sleeves.

  • Back: contains the armhole.

• Folding Instructions:

  • Grab the inside shoulder seam, align the shoulder seams.

  • Lay on a flat surface, hide ties, and fold sleeves inside.

  • Ensure edges don't exceed the gown's edge.

  • Fold lengthwise then crosswise, tucking ties back in as needed.

  • Ensure neckline does not reach hemline.
