Section 7 (e) Overview

Admission of Successful Examinees

• Admit successful examinees to the practice of the profession or occupation.

Registry and Certification

• Cause entry of names on the registry book and computerized database.

• Issue certificates of registration/professional license:

  • Must include registrant's name, picture, and registration number.

  • Signed by all Board members and the Chairperson.

  • Must have the official seal of the Board and the Commission.

  • Serves as authority to practice.

Professional Identification Card

• Issued at the option of the professional upon payment of the appropriate amount.

Marine Officers Endorsements

• Marine deck and engineer officers receive endorsement certificates exclusively by the Commission.

• Based on the 1978 and 1995 STCW Convention standards.

Legal Provisions

• Certificates of registration/professional licenses cannot be withdrawn, canceled, revoked, or suspended without just cause.

• Requires due notice and hearing.
