I. Recognition: Phagocytes engulf the antigen and display it upon the surface of the cell for T cells to recognize

II. Mobilization: B cells mobilize to produce antibodies

III. Disposal: Antibodies signal T cells to dispose of the antigen

IV. Immunity: T cells and B cells multiply to produce “recognition”
