Nature = Inherited characteristics and abilities determined by our physiology

Nurture = Influences of experience. We learn through our interactions with both the physical and social environment

Brunner (1993) = Studied a large family of men who had the MAOA (warrior) gene. This gene correlates with agression

Hypodermic syringe model = Suggests that children and teens may imitate violent, immoral or antisocial behavior seen in media as media normalises this behavior

Isabelle the chicken girl = Found at 10 in a chicken coop and was unable to speak, wasn’t toilet trained and expressed emotion by beating her chest. This shows nurture.

Bruce Reimer = Born a boy but penis destroyed in circumcision so was raised as a girl. He tried to kill himself at 13 as he felt something wasn’t right. He discovered the truth and lived as David and got married but eventually he killed himself
