xray - electromagnetic radiation with wavelength about 0.1nm

  • xray is partially absorbed by the body

  • denser tissue = greater absorption

    • darker when tissue is less dense

    • lighter when tissue is more dense (like bone)

  • image is 3D scan projected into 2D image

  • contrast agent can be used to show different things

fluoroscopy - imaging technique that uses xray to obtain real time moving images or interior of an object

given a scenario - be able to choose the correct imaging modality
