Overview of the Temple University Math Placement Assessment
Assessment Platform: The Math Placement Assessment is administered online through ALEKS, a web-based learning platform.
Assessment Content: ALEKS evaluates a student's current course knowledge through a set of adaptive questions, typically numbering between 20 and 30.
Adaptive Testing: The system chooses questions based on the student's performance on all previous questions. Because of this, every assessment is unique, and it is impossible to predict specific questions in advance.
Available Tools: For certain questions, an on-screen calculator is provided for student use.
Post-Assessment Improvement: After completing the initial assessment, students have access to ALEKS Learning Modules, designed to help improve mathematical skills and prepare for potential reassessment.
