The best way to make retailing recommendations is to use this three-step plan to discuss the What, Why, and How of the recommended:

• Once you have chosen a product for the client, explain, “This is WHAT I recommend”.

• Next, explain WHY you recommend the product. This is the product time to refer back to the concerns that the client expressed during the consultation.

• Finally, describe HOW the client should use the product at home.

Educating clients using these steps help them better understand your recommendations and makes selling the home care products much easier.
