System integration in biology refers to the process by which different parts of an organism, such as cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems, work together to maintain the overall functioning, stability, and health of an organism.

An emergent property is an attribute, quality, or characteristic of something that arises from the interactions of smaller/simpler parts. The smaller parts do not have this complexity on their own.
