Overview of Upcoming Exam

  • Next exam will take place on Monday on campus.

  • Format: 50 questions covering anatomy and vocabulary for:

    • Hips

    • Knees

    • Shoulders

    • Trauma

  • Importance of knowing basic anatomy, bony structures, ligaments, muscles, and major arteries/nerves for the regions.

Preparing for the Exam

  • Review Materials: Go through modules related to knees, hips, shoulders, and trauma.

  • Focus Areas:

    • Bony landmarks and structures relevant to each joint.

    • Major ligaments and muscles associated with each area.

    • Understanding of common terms and definitions in anatomy.

Campus Logistics

  • Be familiar with the campus location.

  • Dress code: Seal blue scrubs and comfortable shoes.

  • Snacks: Bring snacks as the campus has kitchen facilities available.

  • Each student will receive a Medical Sales College hoodie.

Resume Tips

  • Four different resume styles were shared; students are encouraged to customize their resumes.

  • Effective resumes should be:

    • One page in length for clarity.

    • Concise, with 3-4 bullet points per job experience highlighting accomplishments.

LinkedIn Profile Guidance

  • Profile Setup: Include a professional headshot, headline, and about section detailing personal achievements.

  • Incorporate skills and endorsements relevant to the medical sales industry.

  • Follow relevant companies to stay updated on job openings and industry trends.

  • Post updates about experiences during the program to increase visibility.

Surgeon Assignment

  • Due Thursday at midnight: Profile five surgeons, detailing their info and professional background.

  • Each profile should include:

    • General information: office locations, hospitals, surgery centers.

    • Academic history, notable publications, and specific specialty focuses.

    • Summary of personal insights from research, potentially to discuss when meeting these surgeons.

  • Use resources like MedTech Intel, Google, and hospital websites to gather data.

Research & Networking

  • Importance of building a strong professional network prior to entering the field.

  • Seek connections with people already in the industry; alumni or company recruiters can offer valuable insights.

  • Understanding your audience: tailor communication to reflect a genuine interest in each specific company or surgeon.

Onboarding Process for New Reps

  • Generally involves online training modules, shadowing experienced reps, and in-field training.

  • Expect logistical responsibilities: stock management, customer relationship management (CRM) usage, etc.
