European History government types
sovereignty- ability and right to make decisions without having to ask anybody else or without being overruled
constitutionalism- idea that there is a higher law than any king or government (ruled by law not men)
absolutism- power of the king is unlimited by any law- there is no higher power
English Common Law- legal precedent set down over the years in judicial decision
Natural Law- that there is an eternal and universal standard of right and wrong that can not be changed by any king or government
