eGrants and Grant Management Notes
eGrants Overview
- eGrants is accessed through the TL application.
- The grant tab lists eligible grants with due dates.
- Required for Perkins, ESSA, and IDEA B entitlement grants.
- The ADC indicates to TEA how the applicant wants to apply for funds.
Perkins V ADC Options
- Apply on our own.
- Apply as fiscal agent of a Shared Service Agreement (SSA).
- Not apply at all.
- Apply as a member of an SSA.
- We typically apply on our own for Perkins due to capacity to manage the grant and small allocation.
Region 10 SSA
- For Title II and Title III, Region 10 manages the grant.
- The services received from Region 10 through these grants would otherwise need to be purchased.
- Region 10 provides benefits, e.g., 10,000 for a communication speaker.
ADC Submission
- Select the appropriate designation.
- Acknowledge the certification and incorporation statement.
- Select the authorized official (Dr. Young, the superintendent).
- Save, certify, and submit the form.
IDEA B Grants
- Includes both a formula grant and a preschool grant.
- We apply for both and manage the grant dollars ourselves.
Certifying Official
- The superintendent (Dr. Young) is the certifying official.
- Important to use his name when directed, especially when it pertains to existing obligations.
eGrants Interface
- After ADC processing, the Perkins V grant application becomes available.
- The system may display grants with past due dates (reason unclear).
- Grants in process are listed, and TEA's processing makes applications available for completion.
Notifications
- Typically, email notifications are sent, but not always reliable.
- Check eGrants regularly (weekly or every few days) for flags indicating approaching deadlines (5 days or less).
Grant Amendment Deadlines
- Example: Last amendment for ESSA and SPED grant is June 3.
- Object codes cannot be changed after the deadline, so ensure accuracy.
Document Library
- Useful for finding grant applications, NOFAs (Notice of Grant Award), and ADCs.
- Search by grant program (e.g., Perkins) and document type (e.g., grant application).
- Access submitted documents in PDF form to review past submissions and amendments.
- Example: Perkins grant submitted twice, with an amendment on January 14.
