Types of data
Primary:
collected by the researcher
collected from the original source ie/ participants in experiment
Secondary:
isn’t collected by the current researcher but by someone else
data made available by original researcher

Qualitative vs Quantitative
Quantitative:
data can be described numerically/quantitative amounts
→ easier to summarize and interpret information collected
Qualitative data:
in form of descriptions, words and meanings
characterises experiences as X or Y
often collected as written or verbal statements from participants/observation from researcher
