Math Factors and Multiples
Factors: Whole numbers that can be multiplied together to produce another number. For example, factors of 10 are 1, 2, 5, and 10.
Finding Factors: To find factors, divide the number by successive integers until reaching 1.
Multiples: Whole numbers that can be produced by multiplying a number by integers. For example, multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 9, 12, etc.
Finding Multiples: To find multiples, multiply the number by 1, 2, 3, and so on.
Greatest Common Factor (GCF): The largest factor that two or more numbers share.
Least Common Multiple (LCM): The smallest multiple that is shared by two or more numbers.
