  • Economic Globalization - An interdependence of nations around the globe fostered through free trade

  • Economic Initiative - The right to be self-employed, to start a business, and to expand one’s business.

  • Living Wage - A wage that enables workers to support a decent life for themselves and their families

  • Objective Aspect of Work  -What the worker produces as a result of their work.

  • Subjective Aspect of Work - What the worker experiences in the action of working.

  • Work - Any sustained effort expended for a purpose that makes a difference in the world.

  • Wage theft - The denial of wages or employee benefits rightfully owed to employees. It can occur in various ways, such as failing to pay overtime, violating minimum-wage laws, forcing employees to work “off the clock,” and misclassifying employees as independent contractors to avoid paying benefits

  • Indirect Employer - Any policy-making institution that helps regulate what employers may or may not do.
