Respiration

During photosynthesis, plants produce glucose from carbon dioxide and water using light energy.

Carbon dioxide + water —→ light ( chlorophyll ) ——- glucose + oxygen

Uses:

  1. Starch- insoluble, storage form of carbohydrate

  2. Cellulose- used to build cell walls, adds strength to cell walls

  3. Lipids- used for storage in seeds

  4. Amino acids- nitrates absorbed from soil form amino acids

  5. Proteins- amino acids join together to form specific proteins.

  6. respiration
