Series circuits: 2 or more electrical components connected on the same conducting pathway, and if there is a break in any part of the circuit, it opens and disables all electrical components.

Parallel circuits: 2 or more electrical components on different conducting pathways/ branches. If a part has a break, the rest is still functional.
