Who is God?

-People of many different religions believe in God. But what they believe about God differs.

-The Bible is the instruction manual for what Christians believe and do.

-Peter: “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” (Matthew 16:16)

-Christ = Anointed King

-A Christian is someone who commits their life to obedience to Jesus. Christians are obedient to our living King

In the Beginning with God

• Earth and the universe

-Both the earth and the universe, which were created by God

-The more we learn about the universe, the more we learn about God

-God has authority over everything—John 1:3, Colossians 1:16-17

-God holds everything together. -Colossians 1:17

-Theism = Wanting and knowing that God is a part of your everyday life and pursuing that

-Deism = Knowing God but wanting to live your seperate life
