Useful Salesforce Org Information

Salesforce.com Organization ID a unique 15 character identifier that is different for every Salesforce org.

Organization Edition is important as different editions have different features and limits.

Instance is the data centre where your Salesforce org is hosted.

Default Locale

the default country that will be selected for new users

affect the format of dates, times, and addresses, as well as name and number fields.

If you use a single currency, you will select your Currency Locale

If you use multi-currency, you will select your Corporate Currency.

This setting affects the format of any currency fields

User Licenses

Every Salesforce user must be assigned one User License.

A user can be assigned an unlimited number of permission set licenses.

Feature Licenses

give a user access to additional features that are not included in a standard license, such as Marketing or Knowledge.

The Individual object stores details about data protection and privacy preferences to help companies comply with various data protection laws.

Fiscal Year

one-year period that companies use for financial reporting and budgeting.

A standard Fiscal Year follows the Gregorian calendar and has 4 quarters with 3 months per quarter.

A standard Fiscal Year can start or end on any month of the year.

A custom Fiscal Year means that each quarter can be defined by a number of weeks

Custom Fiscal Years cannot be disabled once they are enabled!

Business Hours

define the hours that your users are available to help customers

affect Case Escalation Rules and your Entitlement Processes.

Holidays

should be configured to exclude certain dates and times from Case Escalation Rules.

Language Settings

You cannot deactivate a language that is currently in use!
