  • Agricultural Adjustment Administration (AAA) - encouraged farmers to cut production in return for a subsidy (money given by the government)

  • Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) - promoted development projects (improve navigation, produce electricity, control floods) for the Tennessee River Valley

  • National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA) - encouraged cooperation among businesses in establishing production and labor practices

  • Federal Housing Administration (FHA)  – encouraged loans for renovating or building homes

  • Home Owners Loan Act of 1933 - As people struggled to pay off their house mortgages, this act helped refinance the mortgages

  • Beer-Wine Revenue Act - The federal government can now tax whatever it wants on liquor

  • Farm Credit Act - like a credit card for farmers so they can buy tools for farming

  • Public Works Arts Project - had artists decorate public buildings (created more jobs)

  • Works Progress Administration (WPA) - provided public works jobs on a wide range of projects for many of those needing relief

  • Social Security Act - established pensions for retirees, unemployment insurance, and aid for certain groups of low-income or disabled people

  • Farm Security Administration (FSA) - assisted tenant farmers to help them purchase land or establish cooperatives
