Daily Training and Workflow Objectives

  • Immediate Schedule:

    • The student is permitted to leave at 10:3010:30 today.

    • Tomorrow's arrival is set for 07:3007:30, coinciding with the completion of the preceptor’s chemotherapy batch to avoid idle time.

  • Primary Tasks for Tomorrow:

    • Perform "the bank" (Vancomycin pharmacokinetics review).

    • Complete the patient flow sheets.

    • Manage the IVENS (IV-to-enteral) list.

    • Conduct Vancomycin (‘Vanc’) consults. If a new consult arrives, the student may perform the first or second review.

  • Documentation Procedure:

    • For clinical consults, the student will enter a note and send it to the preceptors.

    • If satisfactory, the preceptor will cosign it.

    • If adjustments are required, the student will modify the note based on feedback (e.g., changes in specific parameters) and resubmit for signing. This is the primary learning mechanism for documentation.
