Module 2-
Console- physical management port that provides out of band access to a cisco device
Secure Shell (SSH)- In band recommended method for establishing a secure CLI connection through a virtual interface, over the network
Telnet- an insecure in band method of remotely establishing a CLI session through a virtual interface over a network
Hardware- the physical part of a computer including underlying electronics
User exec mode- limited capabilities but is useful for basic operations, only a limited number of basic monitoring commands but does not allow the execution of any commands that might change the configuration of the device
privileged exec mode- a network administrator must access this mode to execute configuration commands
Line configuration mode- used to configure SSH, Telnet, or aux access
Interface configuration mode- used to configure a switch port or router network interface
DCHP- enables automatic host configuration for every end device in IPV4
DHCPv6 and SLAAC- ipv6 dynamic address allocation
