Romeo and Juliet Serial Killer Case

A serial killer is plaguing Cape Town, targeting teenage couples. Six teenagers have been killed in the same manner: girls stabbed in the chest, boys poisoned. The police are investigating, and schools are warning students to avoid remote locations.

The Victims

The victims, all couples, are between 15 and 18 years old. The girls have a fatal stab wound in the chest, and the boys are poisoned with an unknown mixture. The bodies are laid side by side with their hands intertwined post mortem.

Police Investigation

Police Commissioner Jakes Tshabalala assures that everything is being done to catch the serial killer. Inspector Liebenberg is on the case.

Hoërskool Duiwelspiek

Dr. Attie Marais, the principal, is concerned about the safety of his students after a double murder occurred near the school. He reflects on how warning teenagers often makes them more inclined to do the forbidden.

Four Troubled Students

Robert du Toit, Amir Pieterse, Werner Black, and Zelda Krige are given community service as a punishment: renovating the Old Residence. They also have mandatory sessions with Dr. Burke, the school psychologist.

The Old Residence

The Old Residence is to be renovated for charities. It has a dark history, including a family murder. Zelda Krige calls it 'a stealer of souls.'

Inspector Liebenberg's Investigation

Inspector Liebenberg receives letters from the killer written in blood. Forensic tests reveal the blood belongs to one of the victims. The letters taunt the police, providing no fingerprints or DNA.

Profiling the Killer

Dr. Stefanie Badenhorst, a criminologist, is brought in to help profile the serial killer. She emphasizes the killer's need for control and suggests focusing on connections between the victims.

Troubled Students and Dr. Burke

During a group session with Dr. Burke, Robert, Amir, Werner, and Zelda are encouraged to express themselves creatively. They are tasked with assignments that reflect their true selves and channel their rebellion and hurt into their art.

Discoveries and Rising Tension

Amir researches Dr. Burke and finds conflicting information. Werner reveals he keeps his dog, Bella, in the cellar of the Old Residence and expresses distrust for Dr. Burke. The group agrees to renovate the Old Residence in one weekend.

The Valentine's Affair

Amir asks Zelda to the Valentine's Day prom, causing tension with Robert, who is also interested in her. A physical altercation ensues, leading to further complications with Dr. Burke.

Morpheus's Perspective

The killer, referring to himself as Morpheus, believes he is saving teenagers from disillusionment by preserving their love eternally. He grows fixated on Werner and Zelda, excluding Amir.

Detective Work and Insights

Inspector Liebenberg and Constable Mentoor investigate connections between the victims. They discover that a school psychologist, Dr. Harry Burke, had contact with all victims.

Discovering Truth

Zelda and Mia visit the Old Residence, where they see Werner entering. Later, while investigating the house, they hear strange noises. Zelda and Mia discover Werner's tattooed dates of his mother's birth and death, and his angel wings tattoo. Werner admits only Dr. Luke is aware of these facts

A Fatal Conclusion

After a basketball game gone wrong, the characters will soon realize that not all will make it out alive. It is a fight against the odds with very little hope…
