Physical fitness is when your body is strong and can do many things like run, jump, and play all day long without getting too tired!

Playing helps your body stay super healthy and stops you from getting sick.
When you play a lot, your body gets stronger even if your size doesn't change much.
Athletes, who play many sports, have hearts that are extra strong for their kinds of games.

Strong Muscles & Stretchy Bodies

When you play and move, your muscles get bigger and stronger! They also get stretchy so you can bend and reach.

How Much Should Kids Play?

The grown-ups at CDC say kids from 6 to 17 years old should play and move for 1 whole hour every day!
Playing helps kids get:

  • Super strong bones and muscles.

  • A healthy body.

  • Happy feelings and less sadness.

Playing can be fun games, dancing, or even special exercises that make your muscles strong.

Playing Too Much?

Sometimes, playing too much can make you feel very tired or even hurt. It's important to listen to your body.

Signs of Playing Too Much

If you get grumpy about playing, worry about missing playtime, or your body changes too fast, it might mean you're playing a little too much.

When Kids Are a Little Bigger

Don't make playing feel like a punishment for eating too many treats. Playing should always be fun!

How Parents Can Help Bigger Kids

It's best to play games AND eat yummy, healthy food. Eating healthy food helps your body the most with growing just right.
