Grounding

Grounding completes an electric circuit and carries the current safely away.

Ground Fault Interrupters ⤵

A ground fault interrupters, protects from an electrical shock by interrupting a household circuit when there is a detection of a leak in the circuit.

• A GFI is designed: to detect currents of a few milliamperes and trips (automatic shut off/disconnect) a breaker at the receptacle or at the breaker panel to avoid a shock hazard

When is working properly a GFI has a green light that turns red when it trips

Once the appliance removed from socket, it can be reset with a reset button on the panel
