Worldview and Sustainability
- Definition of Worldview: A perspective on life, society, and institutions; an interpretive lens for understanding reality (Koltko-Rivera, 2004).

Definitions of Sustainability
Definition 1: Prevention of Deprivation
- Meeting the needs of the present without compromising future generations (Brundtland Commission, 1987).
Definition 2: Non-Depletionary Use
- Resource consumption at a rate no faster than regeneration.
Definition 3: Triple Bottom Line
- Sustainability measured by environmental, economic, and social criteria.
Contrasting Worldviews
- Separation vs. Connection with Nature:
- Separate: Humans control nature.
- Connected: Humans coexist with nature, emphasizing reciprocity in resource use.
