3. Give three reasons why many Americans opposed the "New Immigration" of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Immigrants took other jobs from Americans by working more for less. Americans thought that immigrants would bring crime and disease. Immigrants would create their own churches and schools but only communicating with their native language. This brought fear to Americans that their culture unity was being weakened.
