Electric Potential
Equations
Change in UE = - W (of system)
UE = kQq/r
Unet = potential energy of ALL pairs
(Change in V) = (change in UE) / q = kQ/r
W = (change in UE) = q * (change in V)
2 of the same charge (+ + or - -) will make positive work, 2 diff charge will create negative work
Direction of electric field lines are perpendicular to isolines / equipotential lines
If electric fields are further apart, the equipotential lines will be farther apart
infinite away will have potential of 0
Path does not affect energy only the change
2 of the same charge getting closer to each other increases potential energy and does negative work (ext pushes closer, electric force pushes away)
2 of the same charge getting farther from each other decreases potential energy and does positive work (electric force and ext force pushing away)
