Introduction to Air Quality Monitoring

• In 2020, a new set of real-time air quality monitors funded by NSF grants was established in response to high concentrations of pollutants in Georgia and the Los Angeles area.

• These monitors gather data on air contaminants, particularly lead, chlorine, and bromine associated with fires.

• The data from these monitors is relayed to local communities for real-time awareness of air quality.

Toxic Substance Control and Legislation
