Analysing Primary Sources

Topic - what type of source is it? (primary, secondary, type of text, etc)
Origin - where did the source come from? when was it made? who created it?
Motive - what was the specific purpose/reasons for the source created? Why was the source created?
Audience - who was the source created for?
Content - what information is in the source? How is the information expressed? (formal, informal, etc)
Perspective - who is the author/creator and what do we know? in what time and context was the source created
Relibility - how can we trust the source and does it contain bias? Judge how reliable it is.
Useful - how useful is it for a specific historical investigation?
