the treaty of Versailles

Land: Germany lost land which had important raw materials like coal. They were split in half and troops weren't allowed in Rhineland. All their overseas colonies were taken away

Army: their army and navy were reduced. They were not allowed to have submarines, tanks or an air force

Money: Germany had to pay reparations to mostly France and Belgium. They were in lots of debts due to the lost of their industry

Blame: Germany was blamed for the war even though they didn't start it. Allies demanded them to pay reparations for damage which led the people to blame the Weimar reuplic

Many Germans hated these agreements as they felt it was too harsh and that it was a ‘diktat’. They felt that they didn't lose the war and the government had stabbed them in the back
