Types of Irony

Dramatics Irony

• Where the full significance of a character’s words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character

Situational Irony

• When something other than what you expected to occur happens

Verbal Irony

• When words express something contrary to truth or someone says the opposite of what they really feel or mean

  • Sarcasm
