How to Study CASE STUDIES

Case Study Strategy (Very Important)

For 6–7 mark questions.

Memorise 4–5 facts per case study:

  • location

  • 2 causes

  • 2 impacts

  • 1 response/solution

For an 8–10 mark question:

You do NOT need to memorise more facts.

Instead:

  • develop the same facts slightly more

  • add 1 extra point if possible

So your case study should roughly include:

  • Location

  • 3 causes (push/pull)

  • 3 impacts

  • 1 response

Geography Trick Most Students Miss

IGCSE Geography answers score marks when they include:

Point → Explain → Example

Example:

  • Deforestation increases surface runoff

  • Because fewer trees intercept rainfall

  • This increases flood risk in the Amazon Basin
