Enzymes
Enzymes are biological catalysts that can speed up the rate of a reaction, remaining unchanged in the process. Enzymes are highly specific, they have an active site and substrate which are complementary to each other. This means only one substrate fits the active site of an enzyme.
Synthesis reaction: This is where small molecules are built into larger ones.
Degradation reaction: This is where larger molecules are broken down into smaller ones.
