  • Molecules Formation
    • Molecules are formed when elements bond covalently.
  • Compounds
    • Compounds are substances composed of 2 or more atoms.
    • Organic Compounds:
    • Always contain carbon.
    • Must have at least one carbon atom bonded to hydrogen or another element (hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen).
    • Examples: proteins, vitamins.
    • Inorganic Compounds:
    • Do not contain carbon bonded to hydrogen (or are non-living compounds).
    • Examples: carbohydrates, lipids, acids, water, CO₂, minerals, fertilizers.
