coursework - due week 10 (2000 words max)

• What crime/problem will you write about?

  • How do we reduce crime/severity 

  • sexual assault/rape without DA

• Structure

  • name of crime, why do people do it & what can we do to stop it

• Assessment criteria

  • 1. Why should we be interested in the crime

    • existing research that explores the reasons people commit that crime (400-800)

    • definition

    • Why do people commit → patterns, personality, economic

    • why should we be interested as psychologists 

  • 2. Methods have been used/should be used in the future to prevent commissions of that crime (1200-1600 words)

• evidence of wider reading, clear introduction/justification, evidence-based, critical evaluation of literature, can draw on any psychological theory or concept in order to justify your approach  (do it early on) 

• Write within the context of CJS within England & Wales

  • outlining 3 main points

  • supporting evidence 

• then work period where we challenge the three statements of of oppositve team 

  • rebuttal 4 minutes

• closing argumetn after 4 minute work period
