  • The purpose of this exam is to prepare you for comprehensive exams by testing your understanding of material covered during quarters one and two this academic year.

Section One: Vocabulary

  • Focus on Vocabulary Lists 1-6, which contain sixty words.

  • Be prepared to:

    • Identify definitions for specific vocabulary words (Questions 1-10).

    • Use context clues to fill in missing vocabulary words in sentences (Questions 11-20).

Section Two: Grammar & Mechanics

  • Review notes and packets that address:

    • Fragments and Run-ons: This includes understanding how to avoid comma splices (Questions 21-24).

    • Capitalization: Focus on rules of capitalization (Questions 25-28).

    • Parts of Speech: Ensure understanding of different parts of speech such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc. (Questions 29-45).
