A person is guilty of theft if they dishonestly appropriate property belonging to another with the intention to permanently deprive the other of it. This sets out the five key elements of theft:

1. Dishonesty

2. Appropriation

3. Property

4. Belonging to another

5. Intention to permanently deprive
