Basic Conversion Rules
- Gross and Net Conversion:
- Net Value=Gross Value−Depreciation
- Market Price and Factor Cost Conversion:
- Factor Cost=Market Price−NIT
- NIT (Net Indirect Taxes)=Indirect Taxes−Subsidies
- Domestic and National Conversion:
- National Product=Domestic Product+NFIA
- NFIA (Net Factor Income from Abroad)=Factor Income from Abroad−Factor Income to Abroad
Key Conversion Equations
- GDPFC=GDPMP−NIT
- NDPMP=GDPMP−Depreciation
- NDPFC=GDPMP−Depreciation−NIT
- GNPMP=GDPMP+NFIA
- NNPFC=GDPMP−Depreciation−NIT+NFIA
- NDPFC=GNPMP−Depreciation−NIT−NFIA
Problem of Double Counting
- Definition: The counting of the value of a commodity more than once as it passes through various stages of production.
- Cause: Arises when the value of intermediate goods is included along with final goods.
- Solution: Include only the monetary value of final goods and services when measuring national income.
Sample Aggregate Calculation
- Given GNPMP=6000crores:
- NDPFC=GNPMP−Depreciation−NIT−NFIA=5400crores
