  • Definition: A system is defined as a set of related components that work collaboratively to achieve specific outcomes.

People

  • Definition: Individuals with a vested interest in the information system are termed stakeholders.

  • Categories:

    • Management: Overseeing the strategic implementation of the system.

    • Users: Also known as end-users, interacting with the system both inside and outside the organization.

    • IT Staff: This includes systems analysts, programmers, and network administrators who develop and support the system.

  • Implication of User Needs: The success or failure of an information system is heavily contingent on its ability to meet user requirements, highlighting the importance of understanding user needs throughout the development lifecycle.
