  • Funding: Government of India provides financial support to organize sports activities and competitions in various states.

Promotion of Rural and Indigenous/Tribal Games

  • Objective: Organize annual competitions to enhance participation in rural and tribal games.

  • Talent Identification: Establishment of a high-powered committee to identify talented sportspersons in priority sports.

  • Financial Support: Grant of ₹5 lakhs annually for eight years to develop and enhance skills of identified talents.

Fit India Movement

  • Launch: Initiated on August 29, 2019, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi.

  • Purpose: To make fitness an integral part of daily lives and encourage a physically active lifestyle.

  • Demographics: Programs target three age groups: 5–18 years, 18–64 years, and 65 years and above.
