Nomad: people who moved place to place 

Hunter-Gatherer:the woman collected nuts and berries, while the men went on extend hunts  (when the animals move they moved to-never staying somewhere to long) 

Agricultural Revolution: over time Native Americans began to plant and harvest crops which made them settle 

Beringian Land Bridge:during the ice age connected Asia and NorthAmerica

Clans:groups of people related by blood

Crusades: The holy wars 

Magna Carta: The document established several important principles of the gov’t (right to trial)

Renaissance: era of learning and creativity(rebirth)

Martin Luther: german monk went to the church and nail a list of arguments 

Isabella and Ferinand: goal was to unite all of Spain as a catholic kingdom 

Prince Henry the Navigator:one of the leading figures in the Age of Exploration(set up a school and naval observatory to encourage exploration 

Dar al Islam: house of Islam

Caravel: a vessel both sturdy and swift

Lateen Sail:helped them maneuver and sail against the wind 

Astrolabe: sailor could determine their latitude using the sun and stars 

Compass: they could always plot their course even at night or on cloudy days 

 Vikings: sea raiders who terrorized the coasts of Western Europe 

Leif Eriksson: norwegian explorer, landed in eastern Canada, and named the place Vinland
