0. PREREQUISITES (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
System-Check (Tier Prerequisites): Mastery of C-Tier q_jump_180_rotation. High-level proficiency in q_one_foot_glides_sustained_edges on a backward outside edge (the landing edge). Strong C-Tier q_backward_crossovers. (Recommended Prereq: q_waltz_jump).
Physical Attributes: Explosive power (plyometric ability), a very strong core for rotational control, and robust ankles.
Safety Mandates: A helmet and impact-rated protective gear are mandatory. This skill must be learned in an environment with ample space and a predictable, smooth surface.
1. MOVE DEFINITION
Name: B-Tier: Toe Loop Jump
Biomechanical Key: The Toe Tap Vault. The Toe Loop's power comes from converting the forward momentum of a curving entry into vertical and rotational momentum, using the free foot's toe stop as a "pole vault" to assist the launch from the skating foot's primary edge.
1A. KINESTHETIC & SENSORY CUES (V5.O NEW SECTION)
Key Sensation: The feeling of a powerful, spring-loaded "tap-and-snap." You should feel a deep carve on your entry edge, followed by a sharp, solid "tap" of your free toe stop, which immediately launches you up and into a tight rotation.
Balance Point: The balance on takeoff is a complex transfer of weight from the gliding edge, through the toe stop, and then vertically. In the air, the balance point is your core. On landing, it must be perfectly centered over your single, backward-gliding skate.
Auditory Cue: A clean "shhhh" of the entry curve, a sharp and solid "TAP!", a moment of silence, and a soft "hiss" of the landing edge. A scraping "thwack" on takeoff indicates a poor vault. A loud "CLACK" on landing indicates a failed absorption.
2. TECHNICAL EXECUTION
Global Sequence (The "Toe Loop"):
This describes a standard counter-clockwise (left) rotation.
Phase 1: The Entry. The most common entry is from a Right Forward Inside 3-Turn. This transitions you from forward to backward, placing you on a strong Right Backward Outside (RBO) edge, with your free (left) leg extended back.
Phase 2: The "Reach & Tap" (The Takeoff). While curving backward on the RBO edge, reach back with your free (left) foot and firmly tap the toe stop on the ground. As you tap, your arms and free leg should be "open."
Phase 3: The Vault & Rotation. The moment the toe stop hits, you "vault" off it. Drive your free (right) leg and hip forward and up, and pull your arms in tightly to your chest. This combination of the vault and the pulling-in action creates the 360° rotation.
Phase 4: The Landing. Spot the ground. Land on a deep Right Backward Outside (RBO) edge (the same edge you took off from). Your arms should open to "check" (stop) the rotation, and your free leg extends back to counterbalance. You must absorb the impact in a deep knee bend.

Takeoff Leg's Role (The "Platform"):
Action: Holds the strong backward outside edge that carves the path and provides the platform for the jump.
Tapping Leg's Role (The "Pole"):
Action: Reaches back and provides the powerful "pole vault" action off the toe stop that assists both the lift and the rotation.
Core & Arms' Role (The "Engine"):
Action: The arms swing open during the reach-back and then snap in powerfully to create the rotation (Conservation of Angular Momentum). A tight core is essential to keep the spin on-axis.
3. GEAR IMPACT
Failure Points: A worn-out or plastic jam plug is extremely dangerous for this move. It will provide no grip for the vault and will slip out. A solid, securely fastened, grippy rubber toe stop is mandatory.
Optimization Tips: Harder wheels (95A+) are preferred for crisp landings. Artistic or freestyle boots provide the necessary support for high-impact aerials.
Maintenance Alert: This jump puts massive stress on the toe stop's screw threads and the plate's receiving threads. You MUST check that your toe stop is tight before every single jump session. A toe stop failing on takeoff can cause severe injury.
4. COACHING PROGRESSIONS
Error-Specific Drills:
Error: Under-rotating the jump (landing at 270 degrees or "cheating" the landing).
Drill: "Half-Loops" on the ground. Without jumping, just practice the RBO entry edge and the motion of tapping the toe stop and pivoting 180 degrees. This builds the rotational pathway without the fear of the full jump.
Neural Sync Drills:
Drill: "Off-Skates Walk-Through." Mandatory. In shoes, physically walk through the entire jump sequence. Step through the 3-turn entry, reach back and tap your toe, then jump a full 360, focusing on pulling your arms in tight and landing on one foot. This builds the essential motor pattern.
5. COMBO PATHWAYS
The Toe Loop is often the first full-rotation jump a skater will combine with other jumps. A classic, high-level combo is an "Axel / Double Toe Loop" where the skater lands their first jump and immediately enters the takeoff for the Toe Loop.
6. PHYSICS & SAFETY
Physics Breakdown: Linear-to-Angular Momentum Conversion. Your linear momentum from the backward glide is converted into angular (rotational) momentum. The toe stop acts as an external pivot point that allows your body, especially your swinging free leg and arms, to create a powerful torque that initiates the 360-degree spin.
Pre-Hab Protocol: Intense plyometrics (box jumps, depth jumps) and core rotational work (wood chops). Building explosive power and the ability to control high-speed rotation is key to both performance and injury prevention.
Neural Load Estimate: Very High. This is a complex, high-speed, high-impact aerial rotation with a blind entry. It requires immense concentration, courage, and precision.
7. MASTERY METRICS
Competition Readiness Checklist:

9. ENVIRONMENTAL INTELLIGENCE
Surface Grip Index: A high-grip surface is absolutely essential for the entry edge and for the toe stop to get a solid, non-slip vault. This is a rink skill.
Maintenance Impact: Extreme wear on toe stops and high stress on all boot and plate hardware.
Environmental Warning: This is a high-speed, high-impact aerial maneuver. The "bailout zone" is massive and unpredictable. It requires a completely clear space, free of all other skaters and obstacles. It is considered extremely poor etiquette to practice this jump in a crowded public session.
