CCC - prayer is the raising our hearts and minds to God and it is vital to develop our relationship w/ God
important as it is what Jesus taught us to do. Gospels → disciples asked Jesus how to pray so taught ‘our father.’ prayer is said by catholic community at mass
we follow the example of Jesus. Gospel → Jesus prays at important parts of his life. e.g temptations'
different types of prayer are important in different ways e.g when we ask for forgiveness we can feel that burden of guilt is removed. when we pray for those who have died we believe that we have lessen the discomfort of souls in purgatory
