Allopathy: The method of treatment practiced by recipients of the degree of doctor of medicine. System of medical treatment using remedies that produce effects differing of those produced by the disease.
Dorland’s Dictionary 24th edition- excluded the use of Homeopathic remedies.
Dorland’s dictionary 25th edition- “That system of therapeutics in which diseases are treated by producing a condition incompatible with or antagonistic to the condition to be cured or alleviated.“
Chiropractic is the largest Non-allopathic practitioners in the country
Medicine: Any drug or remedy. The art or science of healing diseases; especially the healing of diseases by administration of internal remedies.
Chiropractic Medicine: no such thing. Complementary term used by media. Practicing a healthcare discipline of Chiropractics.
Vitalism: The Theory that activities of a living organism are under the guidance of an agency which has none of the attributes of matter or energy and not explainable by chemistry and physics.
Mechanism/Atomism: The theory that the activities of living organisms are all explainable by use of chemistry and physics alone.
Vix Madicatrix Naturale: The Mechanistic/medical term used to define the vitalistic component of the body to heal itself.
Innate Intelligence: An intelligence or agency found in living things which coordinates and maintains active organization. A fundamental core concept of vitalism.
Life:
(Dorland’s)- The aggregate of vital phenomena; a certain peculiar stimulated condition of organized matter; that obscure principle where by organized beings are peculiarly endowed with certain powers or functions not associated with inorganic matter.
(Webster’s)- Vitality; condition of plants and animals, etc., in which they exercise functional powers.
Health:
A condition in which all activities in the body and mind are functioning normally.
A state of complete physical, mental, or social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Homeostasis: The state of equilibrium of the body that is maintained by responses to its internal and external environments. All parts of the body functioning normally.
Evidence-Based Practice: A three-component practice based on clinical expertise, research evidence (Published/peer reviewed) and patient preferences.
