Annexation – Adding new territory to a country or state.

Protectorate – A weaker state controlled and protected by a stronger one.

Sphere of Influence – An area where one nation has strong control or influence.

Yellow Journalism – Exaggerated or sensational news to attract readers.

Jingoism – Extreme patriotism with aggressive foreign policy.

Anti-Imperialism – Opposition to controlling or expanding over other countries.

Open Door Policy – U.S. idea for equal trade rights in China.
