pH and Enzymes - Core Practical
- Put a drop of iodine solution of every well of the spotting tile
- Put beaker of water over bunsen burner and heat it until it is 35 degrees
- Use syringe to add amylase solution and buffer solution to a boiling tube
- Put boiling tube inside beaker of water
- Add starch to the tube
- Mix the contents and start a stopwatch
- Use pipette to take a sample of the tube every 10 seconds and put a drop in a well
- When the iodine is brown starch is no longer present
- Keep repeating until all wells are filled
