Filtration and Crystallisation

FILTRATION

• Filtration is used to separate an insoluble solid from a liquid

(insoluble = does not dissolve in water)

Pour mixture into the filter paper. The liquid will pass through the tiny pores and into the flask.

CRYSTALLISATION

Leave for a few days for water to evaporate and crystals will form. Or you can heat for evaporation.
