Insequitur clamorque virum stridorque rudentum. Eripiunt subito nubes caelumque diemque Teucrorum ex oculis; ponto nox incubat atra. Intonuere poli, et crebis micat ignibus aether, praesentemque viris intentant omnia mortem.

Aeneid Book 1, Lines 87-91

Follows a cry of men and a creaking of ropes. Suddenly clouds take sky and day away from the Trojans’ eyes: dark night rests on the sea. It thunders from the pole, and the heavens flashes thick fire, and all things threaten immediate death to men.
