  • Budgetary Comparison Reporting

    • Required for general fund and major special revenue funds with an adopted annual budget
    • Must show:
    • Original budget
    • Final amended budget
    • Actual amounts
    • Optionally show variances between budget and actual, and differences between original and final amended budgets
    • Can use GAAP or budgetary formats; requires reconciliation to GAAP
    • Disclose excess of expenditures over appropriations in notes
  • Infrastructure Information

    • Modified approach assumes significant disclosures:
    • Assessed condition of infrastructure
    • Estimated annual maintenance costs for the past five years
