Adjective Placement

A lot of the time the adjectives go after the noun

Noun + Adjective (Descriptive Adjective)

But not always! There are different types of adjectives

Descriptive Adjectives

  • Colors

  • Nationalities

  • Qualities

  • Characteristics

They also must agree in gender and number with what else is being spoken in the sentence.

Adjectives of Quantity

Adjective + Noun

They go before the noun!

Possessive Adjectives

Ex: My (mi) guitar, Your (tu) guitar

They go before the noun too!

Exceptions: (can go either way)

  • Bueno

  • Malo

When they go before a masculine noun they become shortened, the o is dropped

*mistake in the book, “before the nouns they modify” does that include feminine too? The video only mentioned masculine, also confused on how that changes their meaning

Ex: Grande, changes meaning depending on where you place it and gets shortened before the noun

“Una universidad grande” = a very large university in size

“ una gran universidad” = a great or impressive university
